WHAT IS SHOCKWAVE THERAPY?
The MASTERPULS MP50 is a compressed air operated ballistic shock wave generator. When the projectile impacts against an immovable surface (the shock transmitter), the kinetic energy is converted to sound energy. This acoustic pulse is transmitted into the affected tissue.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Shockwave therapy causes a controlled reinjury of tissue which allows the body to regenerate blood vessels. The resulting neovascularization leads to faster healing. Shockwave Therapy is particularly good at pain management or elimination. The therapy is effective in reducing chronic musculoskeletal pain for at least three reasons:
The shockwaves stimulate a metabolic reaction in the affected tissue causing stress fibres to develop and/or change in their permeability; they generate cavitation bubbles that break down calcific deposits; and they induce an analgesic effect by stimulating the brain's gate control mechanism.
